Will my land line or telephone line continue to work when I switch to the NBN:
You
will
need to transfer your existing telephone line over to the nbn using Internet Telephony. This is
NOT
an automatic process and a request must be made to move your service at the time of ordering
your
NBN service. Should this not be done, then the telephone line and number will be disconnected at
the
time of activation
NBNco is providing Australian users of the current residential telecommunications infrastructure

months after
an area becomes NBN available to migrate to the NBN. Should a service not be migrated to the NBN
then a copper disconnection event will occur which will result in the existing service ceasing
to
function. Should a migration be required after disconnection extra fees and charges are
applicable.
Depending on the previous carrier this fee may exceed $300.
Will my EFTPOS or FAX machine, medical or security alarm continue to work on the NBN:
It is possible to use an adapter to continue using these devices, however compatibility issue
can
occur. It is best to speak to the current provider or manufacturer to ensure the device or
service is compatible.
